US Troops (Greens)
PAVN (Pith Helmets so the Aussies can join in)
VC (Coolie hats/PJs)
Hi all and welcome to another Namtastic Filmsim airsoft adventure. As with all Filmsim events, there is a theme that we play out with role play and a setting to make it feel like you’re in a movie. This will be no different. Each events missions will follow on from the last and no matter who won the battle historically, we look at these events as something that might of happened even though in the end the victors will be the victors.

The easter offensive 1972
Foreign involvement is in decline, three allies, Australia, Thailand and New Zealand who have contributed military contingents, has left South Vietnam. The USA continues to participate in combat operations, primarily with air power to assist the South Vietnamese Army, while negotiators in Paris tried to hammer out a peace agreement and withdrawal strategy for the United States.
On the 30th march a massive conventional push through the DMZ by the NVA forces is unleashed and begins to retake all the ground its lost. The DMZ has a spattering of US troops and a large contingent of SVA swept under the advance.
13th April The battle for ‘An Loc’
The PAVN 9th Division, made up of many scrambles mixed units including a large contingent of VC have made their push on ‘An Loc’. US advisors and command staff have suddenly found themselves unable to retreat and will have to dig in with the ARVN. Our story follows the battles in ‘Death Valley’ East of ‘Na Loc’ and the slow end to the Vietnam war.
LIGHTNING
15th April
The US forces have established Firebase Lightning on the hill side of An Loc. After successfully holding this firebase during the 2 day advance of NVA through the DMZ, the US forces can now go on the offensive and harass the long caravans of supplies being moved through after the NVA spear head has now began its assault on South Vietnam. The NVA cannot ignore this threat and must try to protect their supply caravans and keep control of the three CPs in the field.
US forces no of a number of secret ammo dumps within the enemy held areas of the DMZ and must try to keep their own supply levels to an operational level. In one of the Ammo dumps is a crate of marine marker flares that can be used to call in air strikes from the few remaining USAF recon airfields high up in the surrounding mountains and a command field radio that will help mark Coordinates for Airstrikes and a possible evacuation if a window becomes viable.

Mission Brief
As this is quite a unique battle type, there will only be 3 main CPs in the field which instead of 5. Both the US and NVA will be starting at their main fixed HQs and move into the field from there. Usual platoons and units will be formed before the game starts.
US
The US main objective all weekend will be to keep their ammo supplies high, hunt down NVA supply caravans and call in airstrikes.
Other objectives will include the hunting down of PAVN commanders and destroying tunnel systems.
NVA
The NVA is made up of two elements, VC and PAVN who will be working together to try and get a number of supply boxes from the main HQ, across Death Valley and into South Vietnam (fixed location) but also set traps and ambushes to stop the US from resupplying themselves and keep the three CPs clear.
The three hard points will be marked with NVA and US flags to show the location and control minimum of 4 live players as per the standard FilmSim Rules. (ammo and medical stations so reload and take bandages off but NOT REGEN). This will make it easier for the escort units to make it across the valley and gives a fixed route for US ambushes.
Trophies or war and terror tactics.
First up are the dog tags. Everyone will be issued with a Carabiner to hang off them. All US will be issued with a silver dogtag and NVA White Ones.
HVTs for both sides will be issues with Blue for US, Red for NVA.
Simple rule, you take a downed enemy’s dog tag and add it to your own. You can only take one at a time, but if the downed soldier has more than one, other friendlies can also take one. We will be able to see who the real killers of the war are.
Trip wires and land mines are a huge yes but must be sensible, mk5 only and safely deployed. If a trap is found and defused, leave it there.
Civilians NONE THIS GAME!!!
Commendation – Gold dog tags
Will be awarded via objectives Gold hero tags can’t ever be taken. Wear them with pride;)
Dog tags are kept on soldiers even if they die and regen. STRICT RULE.
All players MUST STAY ON THE GROUND FOR THE 2 MINUTE BLEED OUT….EVEN IF THEY ARE DEAD ‘IF THEY HAVE TAKEABLE DOGTAGS!!!
