Synopis 

The Territory game concept is part combat, part psychological immersion and part live action role play.  
The game tests the theory as to whether anarchy can exist in anyone given area or scenario.  
The scenarios test the principals of the players.  
The players test the principals or morality and decision making.  
The principals are a test as to whether success is more import than survival and social cohesion 

Back Story  

It was three years after the completion of Brexit that Central Government has relinquished its control of regional and local authorities.  To that effect, former citizens were awarded control and development of their post coded areas and released of all responsibilities in taxation, but with all public services removed from access including health care, policing and education.  
 
Whilst in many areas, this anarchial way of life enabled communities and people progress in peaceful cohesion, in the few areas where conflict occurred, it was bloody. Inter-community rivalry, rival faction turmoil and criminality ran rife, with the civilian population left to defend themselves from their new oppressors, and each other.   
 
Word of the 9DX massacres of 2023 in the former region of Devon became modern day folklore when nano-rounds, capable of neutralizing an enemy’s nervous system and weapon system became useless after live ammunition was smuggled in by private military contractors and used against former members of the Armed Forces combat regiments. During the siege, the former citizens sought support from visiting gun for hires, utilising their skills and services to fend off the Armed Forces intrusion to seek refuge with Russian cell.  
The Russian cell, consisting of GRU and FSB members, arrived at 9DX disguised as traders and dark tourists, later emerging an extraction team to exfil a sleeper cell within Armed Forces Team and were tasked in retrieving a batch of a Novichok nerve agent, which had been synthetically produced by a former DSTL scientist . 
After a single day of fighting between all occupants of 9DX, the territory was declared lost and unretrievable after one of the civilian militias own members released the nerve agent into the Territory rendering the land inhabitable.  
 
If the former citizens couldn’t occupy the Territory, no one would.  
 
The former citizens of 9DX are suspected to have left with the Russian cell are now considered dissidents of the Territory agreements and that of central government.  

Since that day the 2024 Declaration Of Territories Agreement was circulated across the land – All territories agreed that no matter what rule of law or regulation was upheld in each settlement, all would agree that no land was worth spilling blood for.  
 

Aftermath  

By 2025, HCD rounds were in full circulation across the territories. Initially designed by the MOD’s Defence Science & Technology Laboratory as non-lethal ammunition used as method by the Police and Armed Forces to disperse crowds and riots or to neutralize violent suspects, the premise of the COVID-HCD round (Human Conflict Deterrent) was simple. If the targets torso, clothes or equipment is hit with an HCD round, the dispersed vapor immediately enters your airwaves or oxygen supply and you are instantly rendered paralyzed. An antidote can be administered almost immediately. After 5 minutes the target is revived. After 15 minutes, the target must seek medical assistance from a trained dispenser. Failure to do so means death. The antidote for HCD rounds are manufactured only by medical personnel on the territory itself.  

Inspired by the Russian security and assassination squads of the late 1950’s, whereby radioactive or poisonous material could be delivered into the breathing space of their target by a simple air delivery or particle shot from a purpose-built weapon. 
 

The use of HCD became increasingly popular across the underworlds of The Territories, both Armed Forces Barracks and Police Stations across the former United Kingdom 

Current Narrative


The Territories are home for all. Ecological preservationists, scientists, hedonists, survivalist and disbanded workers from collapsed national government control. As scores of people leave Londonium as the cost of privatization and unregulated capitalism leaves the working and middle class unable to live life in any lane, let alone the fast lane, more and more expats of the former capital choose to take their chances in The Territories. 

One such location is Zero-Bravo-Quebec – situated on the border of Hampshire and Berkshire, the purpose built 65acre settlement consists or housing, religious structures, arable land, manufacturing facilities and overground quarry areas. 

What was once a recreational area for families across a broken land to enjoy, is now the home of the former NHS – COVID 19 Frontliners, who with the help of disbanded squads from the former UK Police Constabularies, have now created a neutral Territory whereby those who sick or injured through infection, illness or injury through conflict can seek help, assistance and protection. They are call TASKFORCE – LAST STAND 

However, their benevolence comes at a price. 

As a Civilian, militia or not, you are visitor at Zero-BQ, you must obey the rules set or you will not survive for long and may endure capture or exile. TASKFORCE LAST STAND still upholds the basic principles of modern policing. Weapons restrictions, violence used in the manner of self-defense only and the possesion of prohibited contraband goods are arrestable and detainable offences. You have no rights, failure to comply will result in your detention or neutralization.   

This Territory is not yours to keep, but may be there for the taking, by compromise or by force. 

A team of Armed Forces Operators dispatched from the Central Government Republic of London have declared an interest in the land and its resources in both human and supply chain form. In addition, the Armed Forces will actively target threats if it is established that a civilian militia is sourcing, manufacturing and using lethal ammunition and military grade weaponry. Within their remit, is to gather intel, implement a QRF and execute missions if evidence of collusion with a foreign force or clear heavy weaponary development is discovered.
