Backstory
In the previous episode, Phoenix PMC joined renegades from the Tizzit Army to storm Naw village and capture both it and the nearby Tizzit oil field.
Unfortunately, the Tizzit ruler Habib Al Malik lost his only daughter in the siege of Naw.
NATO managed to secure and remove the ZPAP-55; a volatile purple liquid nerve gas which attacks the human nerve system and can kill very quickly and prevent widespread cataclysmic casualties.
Both local forces were rumoured to be about to use it on each other, so disaster was averted.
The “Tizzit” are an indigenous people, who have occupied North Africa for 3,000 years. They are a proud race, with their own language and customs.
Neighbouring Libya is gradually settling after its own troubles, but the renegade warlord Almukhtar, is not interested in world events. Having secured the Tizzit oil reserves for himself, he is preoccupied with trying to export the oil and reap his financial reward after seizing a large chunk of Tizzit by force.
Almukhtar wishes to hold on to the oil reserves and export his oil through new pipelines running over new routes.
There is no money flowing into his pocket until the oil flows out of the country.
Habib Al Malik is beside himself with grief and has launched a revenge war in the memory of his daughter and wants Almuhktars head on a silver platter.
Despite being very anti-west, with such a fragmented army, Al Malik has been forced to swallow his bile and make friends with NATO, who have vowed to support him.
Malik has executed the traitorous generals who helped Almukhtar and has formed a new army of fiercely loyal tribesmen and Tizzit old families – the Tizzit Loyalist Army or TLA.
Deprived of ZPAP-55, both Almuhktar’s mercenaries and their opponents, the Tizzit Loyalist Army (TLA) must once again stare at each other down the barrel of a gun – settling their score the old way.
The battle moves to the salt marshes that straddle the Tizzit/Libyan border.
With Naw a smouldering pile of ashes and the Tizzit forces holed up in the capital, Maku, Al Malik has raised his scimitar into the air and commanded an offensive, sending his troops to seize back the oil field and cross the border, unleashing hell on the strongholds operated by Almukhtar and his hired fighters.
Both Phoenix operated by Mason Granger and Russian independent mercenaries are still in the pay of Almukhtar and need their paymaster to realise his export objective in order to receive their final bonus payments in Gold.
Will Almukhtar finish what he started, will Malik or Almukhtar finally triumph and rule the oil or will the new Tizzit caliphate recede as quickly as it has risen?
Operation Scimitar 2 will be another adrenaline-fuelled weekend of tactics, asymmetrical warfare and role-play and is to be the tenth game in this exciting Bad-To-The-Bone series.
