RED DRAGON pt1 DRAGON RISINGBack story.
Conflict across the globe commenced in August 1982 and came to an end in 1985. Over those three years of conflict, NATO was tested in every theatre by the might of the Soviet Union and its Warpac allies. The conflict came to an end in Italy after the militia uprisings across all of Europe. Not wanting another Afghanistan, the Soviet union withdrew its Red Mist from Europe and returned to its still powerful USSR. This conflict had also returned Poland and a number of other smaller state countries to its yoke.
Why this major offensive and conflict came about is still not confirmed, but NATO have lost respect from many of its allied members. Especially the UK , who found its self on the brink of full invasion. For two years there has been a peace and diplomacy has been reseeded between the west and the USSR.
Feb 19th 1987 – A US journalist is arrested in China and charged with spying after a leak came out of Beijing of a secret summit between the USSR and China which included a new demarcation of their borders and a free trade agreement.
March 1st 1987 – All western ambassadors are expelled from china but a relationship with the UK and Hong Kong seams to continue. March 4th 1987 – The US responds by sending a battle fleet to the South China Sea in fear that China may try to expand its control over the Island nations. India Closes its borders and the Bay of Bengal becomes a NATO Harbour.
May 4th 1987 – A combined NATO force is deployed to Mayanmar (Burma) city of Mandalay where a NATO HQ is established after a sizeable Warpac and Chinese joint force is spotted on what appears to be massive training exercises outside of Lincang city.
July 12th 1987 – NATO Operation Treadlight is given the go ahead, after countless request for an explanation are fobbed of by the Chinese government as to why troops have started doing these mass ‘exercises’ all over Chinas borders. Mission objective is to insert a mass combined NATO force in Fukuoka Via NATOs Japanese Allies assistance. NATO are now poised to strike out at Beijing if hostilities progress.
12th August 1987 – a Sichuan Airlines passenger Jumbo is shot down in the South China Sea. Though no evidence for the tragic shooting down of Flight 967 points towards a NATO action, China is furious and accuses western powers of intimidation and closes its borders to all western flight.
14th August 1987 – The UK is pushed out of Hong Kong, many of its Ambassadors are arrested and its citizens removed via European cargo Haulers. This outrages Westminster and a call for action is made.
August 1987 – Operation Treadlight goes live and NATO troops are deployed In Qingdoa and Yanti, whilst American troops in South Korea begin an invasion of North Korea. At the same time a number of other operations begin across the Chinese Borders.
China’s response is formidable and the Red Dragon Rises, so does its Warpac allies. WW4 has begun.
Our first event begins with a Veteran joint force code named ‘Bigfoot’ in the Nanyao Paninsula and take control of key objective on the open flats of the Baoyu Island for a number of new smart missile systems whilst the main force pushes to Beijing for a fast and concise end to the hostilities.
The sides.
NATO – US, UK and West German period uniforms.
Warpac – DDR, Soviet and Chinese period uniforms.
